Phil Hibbert was appointed CEO of Allianz Global Assistance Canada yesterday. His appointment takes effect immediately.

Hibbert has held several key leadership roles in Allianz Global Assistance since 2012. Most recently, he was CEO of Allianz Global Assistance New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia.

As CEO of Allianz Global Assistance Canada, Hibbert will help drive growth with both existing and new partners in the company’s distribution channels—travel agencies, brokers, and financial institutions. He will also supervise the company’s “continued expansion as a medical assistance and cost containment provider of choice for Canadian and international insurers,” a release noted.

Hibbert will also oversee all integration activities related to the company’s merger with TIC Travel Insurance Coordinators, which took place back in January, 2015.

“I’m delighted to be joining Allianz Global Assistance Canada as its new CEO,” Hibbert stated.

“The Canadian operations has made the most of its recent merger, realizing incredible growth during its evolution into a leading provider of comprehensive travel insurance and high-touch assistance services, spanning all distribution channels.
I am excited to lead the Canadian team in continuing to build on this momentum, while finding new and innovative ways to leverage technology and improve service for our partners and customers.”
