Nova-Scotia head quartered Archway Insurance, one of Atlantic Canada’s largest insurance brokerages, has announced its latest acquisition – the purchase of firm D.R. Hayman Insurance.

The move brings Archway’s total number of locations to 21 across New Brunswick and N.S, and follows the acquisition of brokerage Alliance Assurance in December.

D.R. Hayman Insurance, based in Stellarton, N.S, has been a provider of personal and business lines for more than 50 years.

The two companies have worked co-operatively in their respective market areas for more than a decade, sharing a belief in the advantages of working with insurance brokers, Archway said in a release.

By acquiring Hayman, Archway expands into Pictou County - a new area of business in N.S for the company.

“Pictou County is a vibrant area of our province and we’re very excited to be able to have a convenient location to serve both existing and new clients in this region,” Archway Insurance president, Gina McFetridge, said.

Archway confirmed that all existing employees would be retained as part of the move, with plans to increase sales and marketing efforts in the new office.

Hayman’s current president, Boyd Greene, will also remain through the transition period to provide continuity for clients and staff.

“At Hayman, our brokers spend time to discuss our clients’ insurance needs and recommend the appropriate insurance solution by matching them with the insurance company that best meets those requirements,” Greene said.

“Putting our customer first is at the heart of our business and we’ve found a great partner in Archway who shares this value.”
