A life insurance trade organization has announced the appointment of two new members to its executive committee.

The Canadian Life Insurance EDI Standards (CLIEDIS) named Mike Lewis as vice-president of strategic initiatives for individual insurance and investment products, replacing Darlys Corbitt on the executive committee as Canada Life’s representative. The other appointment was Heather Saxon, as director of information services for retail markets, replacing Alan Bett as Manulife’s financial representative.

Corbitt left Canada Life to assume the role of executive director of CLIEDIS. Meanwhile, Bett stepped down from his role to serve as assistant vice-president of business transformation at John Hancock Insurance.

“Alan joined the CLIEDIS executive committee in April 2013 and took on the role of co-chair in June 2014. Alan’s knowledge, commitment and practical approach to CLIEDIS will be greatly missed. We wish him all the best in his new role as AVP, business transformation at John Hancock Insurance,” said CLIEDIS outgoing executive director Julie Parrott in a statement.

Parrott also announced that Dennis Craig, vice-president of MGA and national account relationships at RBC Insurance, would take on the role of co-chair for the remainder of the term.
