Some Manitobans will be paying more for vehicle insurance next year.
The Public Utilities Board has given Manitoba Public Insurance the green light to increase Autopac rates.
MPI plans to hike rates by 3.7% beginning in March.
That works out to about $33 more for passenger vehicles and $17 for motorcycles.
The board says the increase is necessary because MPI’s investments did poorly.
Rates paid by each policy holder will depend on their driving record, type of vehicle, how it is used and where they live.
