Chubb launches mobile app to aid broker marketing

A Canadian insurance provider is beefing up the value-add of brokers by increasing the information at their fingertips.

Whereas many insurance providers develop mobile apps to assist policyholders, Chubb Insurance Company of Canada has launched one “that makes brokers’ lives easier.”

“Essentially, the app houses of all our brochures, highlight sheets and videos in a digital format, and allows brokers’ access to Chubb resources, such as our corporate website, access to reporting a claim and our @ChubbCanada broker site, which is an online portal to view customers’ policy information, all with the swipe of a finger,” said Melanie Wilcox, assistant vice president, Canadian zone marketing manager, Chubb Personal Insurance.

That app has been “very well-received,” she said, primarily because it concentrates the tools that brokers need into one accessible location.

“The biggest thing is that it’s one-stop shop – you can go to one app and access so many points of information and digital documents, and then communicate very easily and effectively with your customer on the spot,” Wilcox said.

This helps to foster a two-way dialogue, as brokers can review various materials with clients quickly and easily on their tablet screen.

“Now, brokers can enjoy sitting in front of them and going through their masterpiece portfolio proposal in real time,” said Wilcox. “That’s been the biggest feedback – appreciation for the speed and efficiency that we’re able to provide with these services.”
