Echelon’s president resigns

EGI Financial Holdings Inc. announced that George Kalopsis has resigned as president and chief operating officer of Echelon General Insurance Company, a subsidiary of EGI property and casualty insurance.

“George has been a strong contributor to the company, a respected mentor to many and a great colleague to all,” said Steve Dobronyi, the company's CEO, in Monday’s statement. “He is the consummate professional, always operating with the highest integrity.”

Founded in 1997, EGI operates in the property and casualty insurance industry in Canada, and Europe, primarily focusing on non-standard automobile insurance and other niche and specialty general insurance products.

“We wish him all the best for the future,” added Dobronyi.
