Guy Carpenter & Co., part of
Marsh & McLennan Companies’ Risk and Insurance Services segment, announced yesterday that it has established a Global Strategic Advisory unit. The organization will be composed of the company’s Advisory, Analytics, Structured Risk, M&A Advisory, Lloyd’s Capital and Business Intelligence capabilities.
The reinsurer also appointed Rob Bentley to serve as president of this new unit. Bentley rejoins Guy Carpenter from Marsh, where he was most recently the head of the US and Canada Division. He will report to Guy Carpenter president and CEO Peter Hearn, and he will be based in New York.
Bentley has 30 years of experience in insurance and reinsurance broking, having served a number of executive roles. He also has operational experience in analytics and software development.
“Guy Carpenter’s Strategic Advisory organization will add value to clients by delivering a globally consistent methodology for our advisory tools and capabilities,” Hearn said in a statement. “I am pleased to welcome Rob back to Guy Carpenter in this important leadership role.”
The reinsurer also appointed Vicky Carter as vice-chairman of the Global Strategic Advisory unit. Carter will also report to Hearn, and will continue to be based in London. She is a reinsurance industry veteran with over 35 years of experience under her belt, having held a number of prominent leadership roles. Carter was most recently the vice-chair of Guy Carpenter’s international operations.
“The new Guy Carpenter Global Strategic Advisory organization reflects our commitment to delivering a high-quality and consistently compelling global client experience,” Hearn commented. “Vicky is a seasoned executive who will work closely with our major clients and prospects around the world to help them grow profitably by identifying strategic opportunities.”
