Secondary education institution triOS College announced yesterday that it is launching a new insurance diploma program and an insurance specialist diploma program.

Both programs are designed “to address the huge need for individuals to replace a retiring workforce in the insurance industry,” a release said. The insurance specialist program, in particular, will focus on property and casualty insurance. Graduates of the program will be able to pursue positions at insurance brokers.

triOS collaborated with ILScorp, an online insurance training provider for the P&C industry, to create the programs. The former has licensed the latter’s curriculum to insert it within its programs.

“There is a growing need in the insurance brokerage industry for new talent,” said ILS Learning Corporation president and CEO Ken MacRae in a statement. “We are excited to partner with triOS to provide the training necessary for individuals to meet their provincial licensing requirements which enables them to access these exciting insurance career opportunities.”

The programs include a two-month internship and preparation for the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario examination.
