CHES Special Risk expands CGL portfolio with new offering for contractors

CHES Special Risk has expanded its commercial general liability (CGL) portfolio with the addition of a new range of products designed for contractors and businesses operating in the construction and contractor industry.

This latest offering features CGL policy limits of up to $2 million for contractors with revenues below $3 million in the following categories:

  • Plumbing contractors
  • Aircon contractors
  • Hot tub dealers and installation contractors
  • Building construction – general construction
  • Building cleaning – exterior Contractors (up to 3 storeys maximum)
  • Cement and concrete NOC contractors
  • Equipment rented to others – with operator
  • Equipment rented to others – without operator
  • Underground works
  • Waterproofing contractors (residential only)

According to Gary Hirst, CEO and president of CHES Special Risk, the introduction of new coverage options for contractors was driven by the company’s commitment to addressing the unique challenges faced by various sectors.

“Our goal is to continuously adapt and provide comprehensive insurance solutions that meet the diverse needs of our clients,” Hirst said in an emailed news release. “These new additions reflect our commitment to staying ahead of industry trends and offering tailored coverage to businesses in various sectors.”

Hirst also extended an invitation to brokers operating in the industry to explore CHES Special Risk’s expanded CGL portfolio, noting that the added options had been tailored for “grass roots” businesses.

“We recognize that businesses have unique risks, and our specialized CGL coverage is designed to provide financial protection and peace of mind,” he said. “These new products represent our commitment to innovation and ensuring that our retail broker clients have access to the insurance coverage that aligns with their specific needs and challenges.”

News of CHES Special Risk’s expanded CGL coverage comes after it unveiled an errors and omissions (E&O) insurance offering for the online gaming industry. Other recent offerings announced by the MGA include a new program for personal articles floater insurance, as well as a coverage plan for high-value homes.
