Canadian Cancer Society’s fundraising Relay For Life is being backed by Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC) for a 16th year.

WICC, which has raised $20 million for cancer research to date, is looking to raise $25 million by next year in support of the Canadian Cancer Society’s advocacy.

Amanda Martin, Northbridge Insurance Go director and Relay For Life chair, said: “The insurance industry is more than just policies and premiums; it’s about protecting lives and fostering resilience.

“By participating in Relay for Life, our industry can make a tangible impact in the fight against cancer. Every step taken, every dollar raised, brings us closer to a world where cancer no longer threatens our loved ones. Let’s rally together in support of WICC’s ambitious fundraising goal.”

A global movement to end cancer, Relay For Life is active in 29 countries and 6,000 communities globally. In Canada, Relay For Life events are taking place in June. WICC will be participating in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Montreal.

“Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of people affected by cancer,” WICC said. “To register a team, join a team, or make a donation, visit www.relayforlife.ca.”
