Economical Insurance, in association with local broker partner Rozon Insurance Brokers Ltd., recently made a donation to the Cornwall Community Hospital.

The donation of $10,000 will go towards the purchase of a portable Smartboard and five iPad minis. The hardware will be used to improve engagement with patients and enhance the benefit of their treatment. Specifically, the Smartboard will be used to augment client and community programming in the site, while the iPad minis will be used for activities such as play therapy.

Cornwall Community Hospital has plans to consolidate addiction and mental health services from multiple locations under one facility. This new Community Addiction and Mental Health Centre will serve the communities of Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry and Awkwesasne. The total cost for the development of the new centre is expected to be around $1.2 million.

“We are so thankful for the support of Economical Insurance,” said Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation executive director Amy Gillespie. “Their generosity will help enhance care at our new Centre, allowing teams and clinicians to make a positive difference in the lives of clients within our communities.”

“As a member of Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation, this contribution from Economical Insurance means so much to me,” remarked Rozon Insurance Brokers Ltd president Todd Rozon. “It makes it even more rewarding to have support for a cause that will make a significant difference in our community.”

“At Economical, health and wellness in our communities is a priority for us,” Economical Insurance Regional Vice-President of Sales and Distribution for Ontario Robert Gow said in a statement. “Facilities like the new Community Addiction and Mental Health Centre will help countless people for years to come, and we want to be a part of that.”
